Lily Agg joins Birmingham City

Birmingham City has today announced the signing of Republic of Ireland international midfielder Lily Agg. The 29 year old joins on the back of a successful FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign, which saw the Girls in Green reach a major tournament for the first time in their history. Agg has won 8 caps in her first year with the Girls in Green.

Before signing with Blues, Lily played five seasons in the Barclays Women’s Championship, most recently at London City Lionesses, where she played a part in several close title charges since joining in 2019.

Back in 2017, Lily was also the first player represented by ignite, joining Bristol City in the WSL and subsequently Frankfurt in the Frauen-Bundesliga. We’re therefore thrilled to welcome Lily back as our newest senior international.

Lily is a passionate all-round midfielder, who makes an impact both creatively and physically at both ends of the pitch - and is a goal threat inside and outside the box. Lily will bringing further robustness and dynamism to the Birmingham midfield as the team look to improve on last season’s runner-up finish and secure promotion to the WSL.

Congratulations and good luck, Lily! Welcome to the Second City!
